Born and raised with a love and appreciation of nature, of the trees that give us air to breathe, and branches to climb, I have always loved all things outdoors. This passion led me not only to pursue studies in Landscape Architecture, but also to pay my way through university by building decks and landscapes.

About Jim Collins, OALA CSLA
Raised in Stouffville Ontario, I have always had a passion for the outside. My hands in the dirt, getting into the tangible, feeling what can be done. I started this journey from my learned skills in cabinetmaking... at an early age working with my father and grandfather, and the appreciation of learning hands-on skills from tradesmen. In high school the ability to blend my woodworking skills into my love of the outdoors led me into landscape construction - deck building to be exact.
Through years of education, varied work experiences, world travels, and great associates, friends and loved ones, I have been blessed with so many jobs well done. With the support of my family, and my inability to sit still for too long, I am looking into the future with great excitement for what is still to come.

Proudly featured as a guest on the Fine Homebuilding Pro Talk Podcast, I was keen to share my knowledge of landscape architecture with the FHB team, and all the great homeowners, contractors and builders that rely on their great information.
